Deployment of institutional strategies to promote the development of European projects and generate partnerships.

Promotion of the European and international presence of the Deputy Directorate of Agriculture, Fishing and Food Policies of the Basque Government, through participation in cooperation networks and the formation of regional partnerships to exert influence in the context of the Union, exchange experiences and develop consortium projects.

Euromontana
The Deputy Directorate of Agriculture, Fishing and Food Policies of the Basque Government, through HAZI, currently holds the presidency of Euromontana, the multi-sectoral European group for cooperation and the development of mountain areas.
It has been an active member of this organisation, which has almost 70 members across Europe, since it began its journey at the beginning of the 90s. EUROMONTANA is currently the leading civil body for European institutions for everything related to mountain policies.

Arepo
Association of European Regions for Products of Origin. This organisation works with the EU institutions to share the approaches of the most active regions in terms of certification, quality brands and promotion of agri-food products.
HAZI supports the Basque Government’s participation in this association with monitoring of its strategic positions.

Regional partnerships
HAZI supports the Basque Government in maintaining existing regional relationships, in the case of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine/Basque/Navarre EuroRegion, the Pyrenees Work Community (PWC), as well as in establishing contacts and relationships with other regions and networks: Rural Coalition, AgriRegions.

Regal
The European Gastro-Food Network (REGAL in Spanish) is a collaborative initiative between different regions that are leaders in matters such as training, innovation and entrepreneurship within the gastro-food chain, also integrating their connection to the region, culture and identity.

Eriaff
The Network of the European Regions for Innovation in Agriculture is a platform of regions that acts as a space for the exchange and development of innovation projects, generating partnerships and organising events to disseminate everything related to the policies and opportunities for innovation in agroforestry.

European consortium projects
Significant track record in the development of consortium projects, within the framework of partnerships with other European agents and as part of different financing frameworks: INTERREG, LIFE, H2020, CHAFEA, NAEN, ERASMUS+, etc.
Hazi also participates as a catalyser for the Government in creating and managing programmes linked to cooperation for the innovation of the CAP Strategic Plan, as well as in creating Basque agricultural innovation ecosystems, in the case of AKIS. It is currently closely following the European construction of the new innovation framework for this latest programme period, fundamentally linked to HORIZON EUROPE.
