Encouraging positive attitudes to the sector and the rural and coastal environment

The Basque Country’s food and wood value chain and its rural and coastal environment play an important role from an economic, social and environmental point of view. They make multiple contributions to society and HAZI, in collaboration with different agents, develops various initiatives to raise awareness about them and ensure their continuity.

Actions are therefore performed to position the sector as being key to the economy and demonstrate its contribution beyond offering high-quality products. For example, it plays a role in the maintenance of ecosystems, the landscape and culture and in the development of other associated economic activities. The rural and coastal environment a lively and dynamic space full of opportunities and HAZI is working to emphasise its essential role within our society.
