The digitalization of rural areas has long been a priority for the Basque Government.

The Basque Country has new generation broadband infrastructures in practically the entire territory, so as to ensure that the high level of connectivity favours town and country planning and cohesion.

New technologies are part of the solution to the challenges faced by rural areas and undoubtedly contribute to generating quality employment, added value and economic activity. In this sense, on January 18, will be held an online conference aimed at all the actors involved in this challenge: representatives at the different levels of government in the Basque Country (local, county and regional) dedicated to digitalization and the rural environment; rural development associations; as well as other entities linked to innovation and entrepreneurship

The aim is to provide participants with useful information on the vision that European Commission’s has on this issue, as well as some European experiences of interest that may be inspiring.
